After four rounds of pool play and prequarters to close out the day, the quarterfinals are set at the Elite-Select Challenge. Here’s a look at the championship bracket:

Here are some quick hits about the action on Saturday:

  • Wild Card goes down for the first time this season! Love Tractor knocked them off in the last round of pool play thanks to a herculean effort from Jack McShane down the stretch. Wild Card rebounded to easily defeat the UPA in prequarters, but now they’ll have to face tournament #1 seed BFG in quarters (which will be filmed for Ultiworld’s subscription package).
  • What a bounceback for Public Enemy, who went 0-6 at the Pro-Elite Challenge back in July. Today, they were just one of two Mixed teams to go 3-0, and they did so convincingly with wins over UPA (13-11), CLX (13-9), and Polar Bears (13-8).
  • NOISE came into the final round of pool play knowing they would need a big win over shame if they were going to have a shot at winning the pool. In their previous game, they lost to Alloy 12-8, and Alloy was at +2 after losing by two to shame in round one. NOISE more than delivered: they smashed shame 13-5 and clinched the bye to quarters.
  • No team went undefeated in Pool A, either. BFG looked like they were on cruise control to win the pool, facing an Ambiguous Grey team that had lost earlier to No Touching, whom BFG had beaten 13-8. But AG handed BFG a 10-6 loss, which created a three way tie at 2-1. BFG and No Touching were tied with a +1 point differential, so total pool point differential broke the tie in BFG’s favor (+5 to No Touching’s +2).
  • Fun fact: pools B and D each sent both of their prequarters qualifiers to quarterfinals.
  • Rough day for the Polar Bears, who went 0-3 in a weak Pool C. They are at risk of falling out of bid range.
  • The UPA missed the quarterfinals, but they did pull off the best moments of the day:
