Welcome to the sixth edition of the 2019 High School Power Rankings! The rankings can be permanently found on our Youth Rankings page.

Paideia Cup and abbreviated games at Neuqua Knockout offered up some major changes to the rankings. State championships get started this weekend and could redefine the rankings again!

The rankings will eventually be used to determine invitations to the 2019 High School National Invite; currently, we plan to use the rankings published next week as the final rankings before final bids are sent out (many bids have been and will be sent out on a rolling basis).

If you have additional information about tournaments or team strength that you would like to be considered for the High School Power Rankings, please email [email protected].

Notes

  • Columbia opened up Paideia Cup with an upset over #1 ranked Grady and never looked back, topping Amherst 9-8 in the Pi Cup final.
  • Both Edina and Hopkins have been very impressive this season. Edina won their matchups at Neuqua Knockout, and Hopkins beat CFS and Pennsbury at Pi Cup.
  • Lots of new teams in the rankings this week: Carrboro, Summit, Durham, Madison West, Washington-Lee, and El Cerrito. There’s been a reconfiguring of the North Carolina teams, but states will truly decide the relative rankings this weekend. Madison West got a one point win over Holy Family at Neuqua Knockout. Washington-Lee topped Westfield twice at Spring Fling. El Cerrito has been one of the top teams in California and recently defeated Gunn. How will they fare at Spaghetti Westerns? Summit smashed previously ranked South Eugene and will also be in action at Spaghetti Westerns.
