Following last weekend’s tryout for the USA National Team that will compete at the 2022 World Games in Birmingham, Alabama, 32 players have been offered spots at the second tryout that will take place March 26-27 back in Round Rock, TX.
From that group of 32, the coaching staff — Matty Tsang, Miranda Knowles, and Patrick Sherlock — will select a team of 14 players to represent the United States. Here are the players that could still make the final cut:

This is the first time that the World Games team is featuring two distinct tryouts before creating a final team. In the past, the coaches have selected a team of 20 people that played multiple practice weekends together before a final cut to 14. It was unpopular with players that didn’t make the final cut. This year, the coaches will name the full team following this second tryout.
Eight players from the 2017 World Games team are still in the running: Claire Desmond, Carolyn Finney, Dylan Freechild, Lien Hoffmann1, Chris Kocher, Grant Lindsley, Jimmy Mickle, and Anna Nazarov.
San Francisco Fury and New York PoNY have the most representation at the second tryout, with six players apiece. Four players that played in the mixed division in 2021 — Khalif El-Salaam, Kelly Johnson, Sarah Meckstroth, and Jesse Shofner — got the callback.
Here is the list of the 74 players that tried out in the first round.
Hoffmann could not attend the first tryout but was given the opportunity to come to the second tryout ↩
