D.C. Scandal Featured on Public Radio

Two-time defending champions D.C. Scandal can add a recent public radio appearance to their list of clips, as WAMU in Washington D.C. discussed the squad during a recent off-season Goaltimate league game.  While the interview is intended to introduce non-followers to the sport (song at the end — cringe!), you can hear a plethora of voices from the squad in the substantial segment.

I thought star-defender Sandy Jorgensen’s interview was graceful and interesting:

“It’s the place that I get to be competitive and athletic and feel powerful and confident, which I don’t always at work or when I was in school,” she says, “And it’s just an amazing community of both women and men in the larger community.”

The other interviewees include Jenny Fey, Alicia White, coach Alex “Dutchy” Ghesquirre, and Truck Stop captain Jonathan Neeley.  (Full-disclosure: Living in D.C. now, I sometimes play in this goalty game!)
