VIDEO: Boston Ultimate’s Experimental Rules Coed Scrimmage

Could some of these rules lead to a better showcase format or maybe even adopted into standard play?

On June 17, Brute Squad coach Ariel Jackson brought together members of Boston ultimate’s top men’s, women’s, and mixed teams for an experiment: they scrimmaged with a modified rule set that included alternating genders every point, an electronically timed seven second stall clock, active travel calls by the observers, and yardage penalties. Foul and pick calls remained player-initiated. The full list of rule changes for the experiment can be found here.

The game was filmed, and both a highlight video and condensed full game video are available. Ariel is seeking feedback from the broad ultimate community, which can given here.
