So, by “Your 2012 Club Championships Roundup,” you really mean the Open Division Roundup, with cursory Women’s and Mixed coverage.

I’m not complaining that you covered what you did, just disappointed in the misrepresentation of what’s here. It’s a super common problem, and one that’s brutally annoying to women’s (and mixed, and certainly masters) players.

(If by “Ultimate Championships” you really mean “Open Ultimate Championships,” that relegates Women’s and Mixed– and Masters, at that– to something that’s either less of a Championship or, more to the point, less of Ultimate. I understand that your market is much more interested in Open, and I can’t expect you to fight that and give the other divisions equal coverage– although it would be amazing if you did– but I don’t feel out of line expecting a “2012 Club Championships Roundup” to include more than one game each from the entire women’s and mixed divisions.)

Brenna, we understand your sentiment. We did our best to balance coverage of what the majority of people want to see (Open) with score reporting and write-ups on Mixed and Women’s. I think it’s unfair to categorize our coverage as only of one game of women’s and mixed. All of our recaps included the other divisions. We will also be posting some women’s and mixed full game footage later this week.

We anticipate doing more mixed and women’s in the future. Thanks for reading.

Fantastic job with your coverage of Nationals. Thank you.

You guys have done a great job Charlie. Brenna, save us the “brutally annoying” melodrama.

I think Brenna has a point. There is often an editorial tendancy on this website and in other ultimate reporting (ie., Skyd) to label articles as “Club Championships Recap” or “NW Regionals Preview” and cover only the Open side–I realize that this is not the case in this particular instance. This is fine and is probably what most people are interested in–however, as a fan of Women’s, I click on those articles expecting to see some Women’s coverage. It would not be hard to specifty “Open” in the headline.

As a fan of Open, would you not be annoyed if a similarly title piece covered only Mixed and/or Women’s?

sorry they wasted 10 seconds of your time

also, want to say the coverage has been awesome and i appreciate all the hard work!

Will there be any other full game footage available?

    • Charlie Eisenhood

Yes, much more coming this week and next.

So Charlie, did you and Elliot Trotter of Skyd sit down for a powwow and smoke the peace pipe? Was there a meeting of the minds?
