The #24 Tulane Tucks were a pleasant surprise at 2021 fall nationals, demonstrating the strength of the Southeast region as they advanced to bracket play. But tight pool play losses to Santa Clara and UT Dallas at Stanford Invite indicate the Tucks have their work cut out for them if they want another series run this year. #14 Cal Ursa Major, on the other hand, has had a banner year thus far, and looks like a serious threat to make it out of the Southwest.
