Vermont Chill was the big surprise after pool play, going 3-0 with upset wins over #16 Ohio State and #9 NC State. The list of nationals-quality teams in the New England region continues to grow, with impactful rookie class making it's mark behind the leadership of club and AUDL vet Kuochuan Ponzio. UNC Charlotte has also had a good showing, taking 2nd in their pool before steamrolling Virginia in the prequarterfinal. They may be a smaller program benefiting in a big way from the Triangle area's strong youth scene, so keep them on the radar as a team to play spoiler this year.
