Two of the three double digit seeds to advance into bracket play at the 2021 Club Championships met immediately in the prequarterfinals. 14-seed Denver Love Tractor was the surprise qualifier out of the South Central, upsetting Public Enemy and showing marked improvement after a rough start to the season. They continued to show grit and determination at nationals, knocking off two first-year programs to take second in Pool B. Boston Sprocket, themselves a new team, struggled to keep close with the top teams in their pool. It's not a surprise that a team laden with lots of youth would still be figuring things out, and the prequarters gives them a chance to test their merit with elimination at stake.
