Deep Look: The State Of Professional Ultimate (Episode 18.1)

In this week’s episode, we talk all about the AUDL and MLU: which teams are on top, how the playoffs might shake out, how the leagues are doing financially, and where they might go from here. Could we see a merger sometime in the next two years?

With more questions than answers, we open some conversational threads that we hope to address more fully on later episodes with interviews and in-depth reporting here on Ultiworld.

This is part one of a two part Deep Look this week. Later this weekm we will talk college, with the D-III and D-I National Championships right around the corner.

Correction: At 55:20, I mention UltiPhotos not being able to extend full coverage to the AUDL because they don’t have enough photographers to handle both the MLU games (for which they are contracted) and the AUDL ones. I did not mention that the AUDL does, in fact, have coverage of the AUDL’s New York Empire, the DC Breeze, and the Minnesota Wind Chill. Apologies to the excellent UltiPhotos for the omission.
