The AUDL’s San Jose Spiders signed Ashlin Joye for the 2014 season today in Los Angeles during a brief reprieve from Lei Out, the annual winter beach tournament.
The signing confirmed earlier reports from Beau Kittredge — who signed with the Spiders in November — that Joye was close to a deal with the Spiders. Joye and Kittredge are roommates.
The two are also one of the most potent duos in all of ultimate. Both players made Ultiworld’s 2013 All-Club First Team and were two of the most statistically dominant players this season.
Joye adds a premier handler to the Spiders already well-developed roster.
“We’re really lucky to have such a talented player on our team,” said Spiders owner Andrew Zill.
Joye played last season with Major League Ultimate’s San Francisco Dogfish.
