Universe Point: Pittsburgh vs. Texas

A tight game in the semifinal!

Entering Centex 8-5, #17 Pittsburgh Danger looked for a weekend of consistent play. Annelise Peters and Elizabeth Manturuk helped Danger emerge pool play unscathed before working past #19 Northeastern 9-7 in the quarterfinals. On the other side of the field stands #15 Texas Melee, whose 7-4 record fails to indicate just how close this team played all of the top ten squads they saw at Stanford Invite. A pair of 1-point wins in pool play showed Melee’s grit, as Summer Wilson and Mindy Radike led them to a larger win against Chicago in quarters. As the Centex semifinal wore on, and neither team expanded a lead, the odds of a Universe Point grew and grew, and that’s just what we got!
