A Message From The Editor: Changes To Ultiworld Subscription Pricing

Modest price increases are being implemented for new subscribers.

For the first time since Ultiworld launched its current subscription program in 2017, we are announcing changes to our pricing structure that will take effect starting April 15, 2025.

Our Mini subscription will increase in price from $3.99 to $4.99 per month (or $49.99/year), our Standard subscription will increase from $12.99 to $14.99 per month (or $149.99/year), and our All-Access subscription will increase from $19.99 to $20.99 per month (or $209.99/year).

Note that any existing subscribers will keep their current price for as long as they remain subscribed – so it’s a great time to sign up and lock in lower rates!

We’ve worked hard to keep our subscription prices steady for more than seven years. During that time, we’ve dramatically expanded our coverage across divisions, added new writers and editors to our staff, and invested heavily in improving our video coverage and production quality. The last three years, in particular, have seen significant growth in the scope and depth of our coverage.

In 2022, we debuted Field Pass, a multi-game stream from ultimate’s biggest events, upgrading our coverage of USA Ultimate’s College and Club Nationals. We have also begun covering more of the biggest World Flying Disc Federation events, including the World Ultimate Championships, U24 World Championships, and Junior World Championships. We also began covering far more regular season tournaments with live video, particularly in the last two years.

All of this new coverage – and extensive investments in our production quality and capacity – has come at no additional cost to subscribers. But the media landscape has changed a lot since 2017. Operating costs — from video hosting to travel expenses to staffing — have increased substantially. We are proud to be giving even more back to the sport by paying media rights fees to USA Ultimate and the World Flying Disc Federation. And, despite these increasing costs, we’ve maintained our commitment to providing the highest quality ultimate coverage available anywhere.

This modest price adjustment will help ensure that we can continue to deliver the in-depth reporting, analysis, and video content that our readers have come to expect from Ultiworld.

For existing subscribers, we deeply appreciate your continued support of independent ultimate journalism. For those considering a subscription, we remain committed to providing exceptional value and constantly innovating across all of our subscription tiers. For instance, Mini subscribers have recently received a big upgrade with access to the Ultiworld Discord server now included!

The fundamentals of our mission haven’t changed: we want to provide the best possible coverage of disc sports. This price update will help us continue to do exactly that.
