Q: Bigger deal: Thomas Edmonds to Moon or Kaela Helton to Shout (or Khalif El-Salaam to Padova Rangers)?

Q: Is there anything inherently wrong with teams picking up players just for World Clubs?

Q: I actually like the typical esports model for this situation, where you just have “import slots.” So if your team is from North America, you have two slots for Koreans and then everyone else has to be North American, for example. Frisbee would just be the reverse, where you can say have like three US players as import slots.

Q: Clubs can build their rosters as they see fit. Top players can try to earn spots on top clubs. The best one (in theory) will be crowned world champion. IDGAF where the players come from, and any top team will have to balance bringing in top talent and team cohesion if the players being included aren’t integrated into the team’s systems and strategy.

Q: With all respect having been on both sides of this conversation, I think [Clint’s argument] is (usually) a cop out from people when teams pick up players. If these teams didn’t pickup Americans or other top-level players, they would likely bring players from their own club instead. I’ve seen the argument as well that players in the club weren’t at the level of WUCC, and I think that’s a funny one as well because surely that is then just the level of the club going to WUCC. I don’t mind either direction clubs take, but I wish people were a bit more honest that they just want to pickup top level players to bolster their roster for WUCC.
