UNC Wilmington’s Xavier Maxstadt has been added to the 2015 Team USA U23 Open team after roster spots opened up, team sources confirmed to Ultiworld today.
Maxstadt was widely considered one of the surprise snubs from the initial roster. He has been one of the best players in the country this season in the College Men’s Division and is among the top candidates for Player of the Year honors.
“I’m really excited for the opportunity to represent the USA,” Maxstadt told Ultiworld. “The team seems like a great group of guys, and I have had nothing but positive interactions with those of them that I have played with or against.
The U23 teams representing the United States will compete in the 2015 U23 World Championships this summer in London.
