Creating new team names is not an enviable task. The MLU just announced theirs (East and West) last week. Although the response has been generally positive, according to Executive VP Nic Darling, not everyone likes the names.
In response, Darling said, “Can you imagine naming a team the Red Sox? Can you imagine that? That’s a color and probably the most menial article of clothing there is. If we named a team that, we would have been laughed out of the room.”
