Solid wins in pool play gave #4 UCSD DCo the prequarters bye, resting legs a bit more as they prepared to face #5 Washington Element. UW, playing at their home tournament, showed up under the lights in the showcase prequarterfinal in a thrilling 15-13 victory over #21 UCLA. Their road was a bit tougher than they'd liked, as they fell 15-12 to #6 Vermont in pool play who was firing on all cylinders. But Abby Hecko and Co. get a great opportunity to notch a late season win against another likely nationals bracket contender prior to kicking off the series.
