Nike Ultimate Camps Return For Second Year

Nike Ultimate Camps. The ultimate community was ecstatic last year when US Sports Camps, the operators of Nike Sports Camps, branched out into the sport of ultimate. After a successful first year, Nike Ultimate Camps are returning bigger and better for a second season. Offering over a dozen overnight and day camp options in 2014, Nike Ultimate Camps is the largest youth ultimate camp network in the United States.

“At Nike Ultimate Camps, our goal is to provide an unparalleled summer camp experience for growth and development of young athletes by immersing them in the sport and giving them the kind of focused, intensive training essential for their improvement,” said Siera Levenson, National Director of Nike Ultimate Camps.

“Becoming a complete ultimate player means developing athletic ability, knowledge of the game, self-esteem, confidence, sportsmanship, team concept and a positive attitude on and off the field. Our camps help players develop these skills by using the same drills and focused scrimmages used by top university and club level players.”

Many camps will offer both overnight and day camp options for boys and girls ages 11-19, of all skill levels. In addition to the second year camps located in Oregon, New York, North Carolina, Philadelphia, Georgia, and Colorado, the 2014 Nike Ultimate Camps line up will also include California, Texas, Florida, Tennessee, and more!

The camp offerings are over double what they were in the inaugural 2013 year.

“We had a great first summer in 2013 and are thrilled to continue growing the Nike Ultimate Camps network in 2014, adding several new esteemed directors and venues,” said Charlie Hoeveler, CEO of US/Nike Sports Camps. ” All of our camp directors are genuinely invested in delivering top notch instruction. Partnering with these passionate and talented coaches is really what makes our camps so exceptional.”

Some of those revered directors include Founder of Next Level Ultimate Ben Feldman, Founder of EDGE Ultimate Peter Dreisbach, 2012 UNC Callahan nominee Tristan Green, and even USA Ultimate personnel in Boulder.

Former Oregon Captain & Callahan Runner-up Aaron Bell is the Camp Director of the Nike Ultimate Camp at Manhattan College, as well as the Executive Director of Nike Ultimate Camps.

“More than ever, 2014 signifies the coming of age for our dear sport,” said Bell. “Ultimate Frisbee has taken the globe by storm — expanded college, club and international teams, the emergence of American professional leagues, ESPN highlights and cable network coverage — and with it, the level of competition has risen to great levels. Our Nike Ultimate Camps are the perfect cornerstone for any young player’s ultimate resume. Our strong brand of best in class coaching is making a large impact on the quality of play, bringing decades of experience into local communities, and will no doubt have a major impact on how the game will progress in the years ahead.”
