A new place for ultimate discussion.

We’re excited to announce a new feature at Ultiworld: forums.
With the decline of RSD into irrelevance over the last five years, there has been no forum that has arisen to replace it. Sure, there are many places for discussion — Ultiworld comments sections, Reddit, Twitter, and more — but all of those mediums lack the structure, categorization, and ‘stickiness’ that a forum can provide.
We are hopeful that the Ultiworld and larger ultimate communities can find great value in a forum for the modern age, featuring a clean, simple design; robust notification features; categories and tags that let you quickly sift through information; and strong moderation1 to stop spam and trolls.
We think it will really be great to again be able to have big, sprawling conversations like All-Region discussion, the best cleats to wear for ultimate, and who can pick up on your Lei Out team all collected into aggregate threads that persist for the life of the forum.
Here are some of the great features of the new Ultiworld forums:
– Powered by some of the best forum software out there: Discourse
– Optimized for desktop and mobile
– Posts support Markdown, emoji, automatic link embeds, polls, and more
– Private messages for single users and groups
– Real time notifications for replies, mentions, and messages
– Badges galore!
Community Trust
One of the best features is a trust system that unlocks new, more powerful options for users over time. You can read a more detailed explanation of how to increase your trust level in the related Forum How-To, but the point is to reward active, reliable forum participants. Some perks of an increased trust level include:
– Editing community wikis (requires TL1)
– Switching to anonymous mode temporarily (requires TL1)
– Directly inviting new users to participate (requires TL2)
– Accessing hidden areas of the forums (requires TL3)
– Opting out of viewing banners ads (requires TL3)
There are also moderator and admin positions that will be filled by Ultiworld staffers and trustworthy community members. As long as things are running smoothly you probably won’t even notice them, but moderators and admins will not hesitate to enforce the community guidelines whenever necessary. They will be especially vigilant when it comes to offensive, abusive, hateful, obscene, or harassing speech–so, don’t even try it.
Joining The Forums
All it takes to join the Ultiworld Forums is an Ultiworld.com account.
If you do not have an existing account on ultiworld.com, first go to the Ultiworld account registration page and create an account.
Once you’ve created an account on ultiworld.com, use that username and password when you press “Log In” on forums.ultiworld.com. This will automatically create a connected profile for you on the Ultiworld Forums.
You will always use your Ultiworld username to log in, but you are free to change your profile information on Ultiworld Forums to something different from your main account. This includes your forum username, forum email, and forum avatar.
Changing your profile information on forums.ultiworld.com will not affect your account information on ultiworld.com, nor will the reverse.
Go Explore
We encourage you to head over to the forums and explore a bit. There are already some discussions cropping up, and we hope you will join in or start a new conversation.
