EUCF 2019: Pot Reveal

Let's see how the pools will shake out in Caorle!

The EUCF is starting on September 27 in Caorle, Italy, and it is time to see how things will shake out in premier club event of Europe. Teams were seeded based on their EUCR finish this year and how teams from their region did at the EUCF last year. Pots were made based on these seedings. Pools will be drawn from these pots exclusively on an episode of EuroZone this Wednesday.

Men’s

There are 24 teams in the men’s division. These teams will be placed into six pools of four teams to begin the tournament. The one seeds from each pool will come from the M1 pots, the two seeds from the M2 pots, etc. M1 pots are split into three categories: A, B and C. Splitting this way ensures that if games go to seed, the top four seeds will meet in the semifinals and the top two seeds will meet in the final. M2 and M3 are split into two categories: A and B. M4 is a single pot of six teams. The men’s pools will be drawn up as follows:

Women’s

The women’s and mixed divisions use the same format for pool draw. There are 12 teams in each division. They will be split into two pools of six teams. There are three levels of pots (W1, W2, W3). Each pool will contain two teams from each pot. W1 is split into two categories: A and B. Each pool will get one team from W1A and one team from W1B. This ensures that the top two seeds will not be in the same pool. The women’s pools will be made up as follows:
