Will there be a postseason?

A USA Ultimate survey sent out to club players this morning asked questions about possible alternative postseason scenarios, including State Championship events and a national invite-only tournament.
After asking players for their opinions on playing standard series tournaments (Sectionals, Regionals, Nationals), the survey poses these two questions:
“Would you be interested in participating in a national invitational tournament in San Diego, CA, in October (the weekend that usually hosts Club Nationals)?
“Would you be interested in participating in a State Championship series that is based only on single games, each played two weeks apart?
The State Championship series is being floated as a potential replacement for Sectionals, since it wouldn’t require teams to cross state lines and would be flexible to each state’s individual rules around team sports. The survey gave the example of a prequarters game in week 1, a quarters game in week 3, etc. The format would allow 14 days between games, the typical self-quarantine period to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The national invitational tournament, which would take place in lieu of Club Nationals, would feature a bid application, and teams would be invited on rolling basis. It appears this would replace a typical qualification process through the Series.
With the survey, USA Ultimate is assessing the viability of various postseason scenarios as they prepare to update players on the potential for events in September/October by June 30th.
