What the play through two days is telling us.

RALEIGH— The women’s division started with 10 teams at 8:00AM and dwindled to just the final two by early afternoon. We began in round one finishing up pool play games bright and early, then immediately jumped to quarters and semis.
After a lackluster day across the women’s division yesterday with very few tight games, we were treated with a thrilling match-up first thing this morning between #12 Portland Schwa and #3 Raleigh Phoenix. Very few people probably predicted that this game would be a highlight, but how wrong we all were. Even though the game had no bearing on Phoenix’s standing, they played a pretty normal rotation. Schwa went down early and it looked like Phoenix would run away with it, but the west coast crew rallied themselves back into the game with three breaks in a row to take half. Phoenix collected themselves through halftime and tied it up immediately following the pause. Every point was an absolute grind but it was Phoenix who had the edge when they locked in a break to make it 10-9.
