In a collaboration between all three of the US-based semi-professional ultimate frisbee leagues, the Premier Ultimate League and Western Ultimate League will battle it out in a postseason All-Star game, hosted by the Ultimate Frisbee Association at their Championship Weekend. The game will pit 18 players from each league against one another in a full four quarter contest on Saturday August 23 in Milwaukee, WI.

“We’re excited to showcase some of the game’s greatest ultimate frisbee athletes in a way that’s never been done before,” said WUL Executive Director Nicole Neumiller in the announcement. “And we get to do it on a grand stage at UFA Championship Weekend. I’m proud to have our players share the field with the PUL, whose leadership and players have done so much to advance our sport.”
The question of which league has the superior talent has percolated since the Western Ultimate League began playing a full season in 2020, just a year after the Premier Ultimate League has completed their inaugural season. This will be the first crossover competition in the leagues’ history.
The game will be streamed live on YouTube. Details for the ruleset have yet to be announced, although it is agreed that the game will utilize observers for officiation.
