An MVP duel out East.
July 15, 2026 by Paul Würtztack in Analysis

Welcome to Better Box Scores’ coverage of the semi-pro seasons. It is anchored by EDGE, which converts goals, assists, blocks, turnovers, and yards gained into one metric, while accounting for the scoring and turnover environment.
In the penultimate games of their regular seasons, Alex Atkins and Tobe Decraene put on performances typical of their respective 2026 campaigns: Atkins with an outrageous amount of errorless throwing yardage (527); Decraene with another boatload of scores (10). With both poised to surpass 6000 total yards in the final week, Atkins has done so with only 11 turnovers (compared to 26 for Decraene), while Decraene’s 91 total scores are 18 more the next closest, Malik Auger-Semmar’s 73 (Table 5). In a race like this, and where every MVP since 2018 has appeared at Championship Weekend, the outcome of this race may to come down to one thing: which team emerges out of the East.
