Anonymous Comments – Pt. 2

I was surprised at the strong reaction to a reader’s suggestion that we disallow anonymous comments. We’ve certainly heard you — and anonymity will still be allowed here at Ultiworld.

We want to maximize the quality of our comments section, which is usually quite interesting and worth engaging in. I think the downside of limiting comments by requiring full names doesn’t outweigh the benefit of people being less likely to post off-topic, mean, or useless comments.

We will continue to moderate away name-calling, grammar nitpicks (but please comment with them, we fix typos!), and other unpleasant comments. That has seemed to have worked well so far, and we’re pretty happy with the quality of 95% of comments on the site.

Thanks for reading and being a part of this community, whether you like to comment or just lurk.
