Discraft Issues Statement In Wake Of MLU & Innova Partnership

The logo of Discraft.Last week’s news that Major League Ultimate signed an exclusive agreement with Innova to use their Pulsar disc as the official disc of the league raised some eyebrows in the ultimate world, as it marked the first time since the early 1990s that any major Ultimate league would stray from using the Discraft Ultrastar as the competition disc.

Brian Sullivan, Discraft’s Marketing Director, sent Ultiworld this statement today:
Ultra-Star was created by Discraft founder and Ultimate Hall of Famer Jim Kenner in 1981, which was adopted by the UPA [now USA Ultimate] as the official disc for championship play in 1991. The company has a deep understanding of the needs of Ultimate players, and we work every day to continue to keep the trust of the Ultimate community by focusing and delivering on two words: quality, consistency.  Discraft would like to continue to express our deep gratitude to all generations of players around the globe who throw the Ultra-Star with confidence and pride. /end corporate sounding but heartfelt statement, now go throw.
