Q: I was thinking about how ultimate can get back to playing sooner rather than later, but safely.
Maybe Tom Crawford has heard of this, but what about a breathable mask? The big thing from this virus is that it spreads primarily through particles in the air from people at a close distance. No one can run with an N95 or some face covering for long, so I started to google what breathable masks exist. I came up with these type of masks rated for cyclist and runners who are active in high pollution areas.
I found these online as one of the top rated masks for runners and cyclists. It appears to have filters to block incoming and outgoing particles. I don’t know if this would work and I am trying to get my friends in the medical field to weigh in on its impact but haven’t heard back. If we could play with sanitizing of the hands and the disc, plus wearing this, that might get us back to somewhat normal, but safely. I personally have been throwing at a distance with a friend I know has also been on lockdown for months now, so we are taking precautions but many here in New England want to see more control over the virus before we even step on the practice field. This option may help some get back out there.
