This December’s rescheduled College Championships event is just over six weeks away. Some teams in Division III have already claimed a spot in the SoCal sun, but most teams will be fighting for bids at Regionals, which begin this weekend.

Now that all Conference Championships are complete, we now have official Regionals-to-Nationals bid allocation. Here are the bids available for each region, per USA Ultimate’s announcement on Monday.

RegionD-I Women'sD-I Men'sD-III Women'sD-III Men's
Atlantic Coast2312
Great Lakes2211
Metro East1122
New England2222
North Central1222
Northwest2221
Ohio Valley3222
South Central2222
Southeast2211
Southwest3211

Unlike in a normal season, bids were determined by a combination of automatic bids, size bids, and strength bids based on historical performance. Every region gets an autobid in both D-I and D-III. Then each of the four divisions got six size bids, assigned to the six largest regions based on the Official Team Count.1. Four strength bids were also awarded in D-I, based on a “weighted average of the historical bid allocation for the 2017, 2018, and 2019 seasons,” with 50% weight to 2019, 35% to 2018, and 15% to 2017.

A tiebreaker for the final size bid between the D-I Northwest and Ohio Valley regions gave a third bid to the Ohio Valley.

Atlantic Coast, Great Lakes, Metro East, and Northwest Regionals kick off the action this weekend, with the other six regions hosting tournaments over the next two weekends before Thanksgiving. The D-I and D-III College Championships are set for December 17-20 in Norco, California, outside of Los Angeles.
