Snider's innovation as a thrower and competitive spirt sees him become Bates' second Donovan winner

Bates’ Daniel Snider was named the winner of the 2025 Donovan Award during championship Monday of the D-III College Championships. He becomes the second player from Bates – though the first from the men’s side – to win the award.
The award is a clear signal of Snider’s impact on the division even in a year when his team did not make Nationals. Despite first picking up a disc at the age of 11, he was a bit of an unknown quantity as 2024 D-III Nationals approached. Bates’ undefeated regular season had people talking, then outright gawking when Snider dished nine assists to force universe against eventual champions St. Olaf in the first round of Nationals pool play.
Snider added 29 more throughout the weekend, including seven in another universe point bout against Richmond in prequarters, to almost unanimously lock up BPOTY recognitions. As instrumental as his play was to booking Orange Whip’s first spot at Nationals, Snider’s steady leadership charted a clear course to the destination from his first practice.
It’s clear Daniel Snider is the truth, and he’s also now the newest Donovan Award winner. Congratulations once again!
