#1 Carleton CUT, the reigning national champions, opened the season with an undefeated showing to win Florida Warm Up. A 13-10 win over #4 Massachusetts in the final cemented their tournament win.
The top ranked team in the preseason Power Rankings, CUT entered the weekend as the favorite and delivered with an 8-0 performance where their margin of victory exceeded five goals per game. Windy conditions took over the tournament after the first day of play, forcing teams into a challenging early season environment. In the final, a three-goal run, powered by reigning Player of the Year Declan Miller, took Carleton from trailing 9-8 to leading 11-9 and allowed them to run through the tape.
In the women’s division, Brown broke on back-to-back points to defeat Florida 10-8 in a game chock full of zone and field-position hucks. Devin Allard-Neptune was vital for Shiver as the defensive deep and sending valuable hucks the other direction, including an impressive game-winner.
