The Line brings together lists of sevens from our reporting staff.

Another edition of the USAU Club Championships is here, and with that comes another edition of Fantasy Frisbee (and other fun free games). The fine folks over at Fantasy Frisbee have continued to add new ways to play, but the main version of the game is still the budget version. With just $70 available to build your team, finding the hidden gems is the key to winning. Before you lock in your lineup, here are seven players you may want to sneak into your lineup.

Callahan Bosworth (Portland Rhino Slam!) – $3

$3 is a criminally low price point for Bosworth, who was playing a featured role on Rhino’s offense the last time we saw Portland in a competitive tournament. At US Open, Bosworth was downright dominant downfield, plucking discs out of the air with ease. He posted a double-double there (14G/11A) while turning the disc over just twice. Raphy Hayes’ return will likely eat into some of Bosworth’s touches1, but getting a frequent goalscorer on a team that’s a borderline lock to make semis for the minimum price is too good a deal to pass up.

Rachel Mast (Ann Arbor Hybrid) – $11

At $11, I’m stretching the definition of “budget-friendly” to put Mast on this list. But it’s Rachel freaking Mast, one of the best players in the Mixed Division, that we’re talking about. She’s going to score plenty of goals. She’s not going to turn the disc over much. She’ll probably pick up a few blocks along the way, even while playing on Hybrid’s O-line. That she’s not one of the highest-priced players is a huge oversight.

Abe Coffin (Ann Arbor Hybrid) – $3

Going back to more true budget players, we return to Hybrid for another minimum-price player in Abe Coffin.2 With Aaron Bartlett now on Chicago Machine and Jon Mast out for the season, there are a lot of goals and assists up for grabs on Hybrid’s offense. Based on their play at US Open, it’ll be Coffin and Dalton Smith filling those roles. With Smith costing $13 and Coffin just $3, it’s a pretty easy call to get Coffin in your lineup and apply those savings elsewhere.

Grace Maroon (Philadelphia AMP) – $9

Anyone who’s watched some of Penn Venus over the last couple years has witnessed Grace Maroon’s development into one of ultimate’s brightest young stars. She’s a phenomenal asset to any offense, capable of shouldering an immense workload and equally comfortable operating downfield or in the handler space. Her gaudy statlines for Venus at the last couple College Nationals are proof of that, but we haven’t seen this version of Maroon at Club Nationals yet.3 That changes this weekend, and at just $9, Maroon is a must-have for your lineup.

Mika Kurahashi (Toronto 6ixers) – $4

Maroon isn’t the only college star readying for a huge performance at Club Nationals. Thanks to Seattle BFG’s stunning upset at Regionals in 2025, it’s been a couple years since we saw Mika Kurahashi at Club Nationals. Since posting 9G/6A in 2024 for Vancouver Red Flag, Kurahashi has become one of the most dominant cutters we’ve ever seen in college, leading UBC to back-to-back title game appearances and a 2025 college title. But in Fantasy Frisbee, you can add her to your lineup for a mere $4.

Dexter Clyburn (San Francisco Revolver) – $3

Picking players for the defender role is an impossible decision in Fantasy Frisbee. Block numbers simply aren’t translatable year-to-year or even tournament-to-tournament, so your guess is as good as mine as to who will rack them up in San Diego. There are worse bets to make, though, than picking Dexter Clyburn, who should at least earn some offensive points on the counterattack for Revolver’s D-line offense. And if he can swipe just a couple of blocks, that 9x multiplier will make his total score quite valuable for the mere $3 it costs to put him in your lineup.

Yina Cartagena (New York BENT) – $8

In the last three seasons, Yina Cartagena has thrown 21, 28, and 23 assists at Nationals. Her 21 assists in 2025 and 28 assists in 2024 were both good for second in the division, behind just Kaela Helton. Her 23 assists in 2023 led the entire Nationals field. I hesitate to call anything in ultimate a lock, because this sport can be so wonderfully chaotic, but it seems likely that Yina Cartagena will be close to, if not atop, the assists leaderboard at Nationals. And for just $8, you can have the perennial assist leader in your Fantasy Frisbee lineup. That seems like a pretty good deal.
