Growing College Ultimate

Kyle Weisbrod has some tips in the comments of our piece on NCAA sanctioning:
The best thing that we can do as a community to push the sport forward at the college level is give money to your college Ultimate team through existing channels at the Athletic department. Brown University has already established an endowment for the men’s team and is working on one for the women’s team.

Number of donors counts too; so if you are a poor, recent grad, contribute $5/year to show that the team is in your giving plan.If you are a college captain and you don’t know where money should go to or have been keeping all of your accounts under the table, you should be working with the Athletic Department or Club sports department to figure out the official channels and then broadcast that far and wide — to alums and parents to start with.

Don’t wait for someone else at some other school to push for more legitimacy; anyone can make real, tangible steps to help the sport.
