The AUDL announced via Twitter today that Jimmy Mickle and Kurt Gibson will be back with the Dallas Roughnecks for the 2017 season.
The two superstars, who finished first and second respectively for Ultiworld’s 2016 Club Player of the Year Award, helped the Roughnecks to a league championship and undefeated season last year. The pair combined for a total of 49 goals and 89 assists last season, including 11 goals throw to each other.
“I’m really excited to be playing with the Roughnecks in 2017, honestly probably more excited than in 2016,” Mickle told Evan Lepler for the league’s Tuesday Toss column. “Without Beau and Cassidy, I feel a little bit more ownership of the team. It’s going to be a younger and less experienced team, but that often means more fun. We have lofty goals for the season again, both on and off the field.”
