Madison Radicals Add Former D-I Football Wide Receiver

Another AUDL franchise taking a chance on a big time athlete.

The Madison Radicals have signed Marquis Mason, a former wide receiver at the University of Wisconsin, for the 2017 AUDL season. The move was announced on the Radicals’ Facebook page, alongside a reel of Mason’s football highlights.

Mason is a local product, starring for the basketball and football teams at Madison East High School. He played wide receiver for the Badgers from 2010-2014, though his college football career was derailed by multiple knee injuries. According to posters on reddit, Mason has been spotted playing ultimate in Madison spring and summer leagues over the past two years, though he doesn’t have a formal background in the sport.

Mason works at a mentoring program for middle school boys called Young and Gifted, which he founded in his hometown.
