Three superstars may not be enough.
The AUDL’s Dallas Roughnecks held their tryouts this weekend with some familiar faces on hand, including Dylan Freechild and Brett Matzuka.
Beau Kittredge, Dallas’ first signing, posted a photo on Instagram on the way to tryouts (from left, Jimmy Mickle, Kittredge, Freechild):
Freechild, a 2015 Ultiworld All-Club 2nd Team selection, has never played semi-pro ultimate before, and has been explicitly against the use of referees and active observers as recently as this year. But he tweeted on Friday that he is at least considering the possibility of playing in a pro league this season:

Brett Matzuka, a 2015 Ultiworld All-Club 1st Team selection, was also at tryouts. He played in the AUDL with the Chicago Wildfire last season and the DC Breeze in 2014, but lives in Kansas City, which is about halfway between Chicago and Dallas.
There were also plenty of Texas locals on hand, including Doublewide players like Brandon “Muffin” Malecek and recent college stars like Texas A&M grad Matt Bennett.
The Roughnecks have already signed Kittredge, Mickle, and Cassidy Rasmussen (2015 Ultiworld Player of the Year).
An earlier version of this article linked to @BrettMatzuka on Twitter, which is not operated by Brett himself.
