High School Power Rankings: Post-Terminus Edition [3/27/18], Presented By Universe Point

Welcome to the third edition of the 2018 High School Power Rankings, presented by Universe Point cleats! The rankings can be permanently found on our Youth Rankings page.

Many youth teams have not played yet this season, so these rankings should still be considered preliminary. They will continue to change during the course of the spring. The rankings will eventually be used to determine invitations to the 2018 High School National Invite; currently, we plan to use the rankings published the week of May 7th as the final rankings before final bids are sent out (many bids will be sent out on a rolling basis).

If you have additional information about tournaments or team strength that you would like to be considered for the High School Power Rankings, please email [email protected].

Teams, if you would like to add logos and team information to your Team Pages, follow these instructions!

Without further ado, here are the Top 25 teams in the Boys’ and Girls’ High School Divisions!

Notes

  • Amherst flies up the rankings ten spots to #2 after winning Terminus with a narrow victory over now-#3 Grady.
  • STEM’s solid Terminus performance — with losses to Amherst and Catholic their only black marks — bumps them up four spots to #14.
  • Welcome back, Lexington Pi! After dropping out of the top 25 due to inactivity, they surged back with a win over Holy Family at a snow-shortened Rivertown Throwdown.
  • Great River debuts in the top 25 this week thanks to feedback from Minnesota organizers who pointed out their Team USA U20 selection Leo Sovell-Fernandez and other U20 tryout invitees on a veteran-heavy roster.
  • It looks like Mason’s magic from 2017 has been shed: some tough losses at Rivertown Throwdown dropped them from the top 25.

Notes

  • Helloooo, Knoxville! The second year homeschooler team came out of nowhere to win Terminus this weekend, smashing Paideia (who dropped six spots this week) 9-3 in the final. That came after a 13-1 loss to Paideia in pool play in which the Knoxville starters mostly rested.
  • Edina also bumps up into the rankings to correct some earlier inconsistencies at the bottom end of the top 25.
  • Also, Oregon’s Crescent Valley — a team that has been on the bubble of the Top 25 to start the year — nudges in at #25 this week.
  • Mount Notre Dame’s losses at Rivertown dropped them out of the rankings this week.
