In the end, we should have all seen this coming. The team with the most experienced roster and the least turnover beat team after team integrating new, and often young, talent into their teams. Coupled with a short season that kept teams, including the champions themselves, from being able to feel fully comfortable with their offensive systems, #1 San Francisco Fury dominated with a restored defensive intensity after two years away. Only Raleigh Phoenix were able to get close to matching San Francisco’s full fury in the national semifinal, as Fury dismantled nearly every competitor that got in their way, including rivals Boston Brute Squad in the final to reclaim the women’s division title once more.
