College Regular Season comes to a Close
This weekend marked the end of the 2022 college regular season, and teams in all divisions made their final statements ahead of the postseason.
In D-I Men’s, #1 Brown picked up another big tournament victory at Easterns, earning a 15-13 win over #20 Georgia, who bounced back in a big way after a disappointing Smoky Mountain Invite.
On the other side of the country, #5 University of Washington emerged undefeated from their home tournament at Men’s Northwest Challenge. Similarly named Washington University were the victors at Huck Finn.
No ranked D-I Women’s programs were in action.
USAU Names World Games Roster, Pools Drawn
Less than a week after the final tryout weekend, USA Ultimate named the 14-person roster chosen to represent the country at the World Games in Birmingham this July.
The governing body also named six alternates: Kami Groom, Jack Hatchett, Raphy Hayes, Anna Nazarov, Jesse Shofner, and Eric Taylor.
On Friday, the official pools for the event were drawn live on the Deep Look podcast. The United States will square off with Canada, Great Britain, and Germany in Pool A, while 2017 silver medalists Colombia headline a Group B with Australia, Japan, and France.
PUL Kick Off 2022 Season with Two Games
In the first regular season action since its inaugural year in 2019, the Premier Ultimate League hosted games in Columbus and Atlanta. The Milwaukee Monarchs earned a 19-15 victory over hosts Columbus Pride on Saturday, despite starting the game by intentionally throwing their first offensive hold as an apology for the harm done to sexual assault survivors by the organization.
Later that evening, the Raleigh Radiance made it a road team sweep on opening weekend, as they dispatched of the Soul in Atlanta, 28-13.

USAU Drops Vaccine Mandate
USA Ultimate announced new changes to the organization’s COVID-19 policies moving forward, including the removal of a requirement to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 PCR test in order to compete at interstate events.
