For the second consecutive major club championship event, Raleigh Ring of Fire (USA) and New York PoNY (USA) proved to be the class of the Open division, producing undefeated runs to meet in a title match.

At USAU Club Nationals in 2021, in one of the most hotly contested finals we’ve seen in a while, Ring came out on top, besting the New Yorkers by just one point. In the corresponding contest at WUCC 2022, however, PoNY looked rejuvenated, with some new additions and some players in roles you might not otherwise expect. Finishing 15-12, New York won the World Championship in rather convincing fashion, so let’s take a look at how they did it.
