Few players in the sport of ultimate have been more visible over the last fifteen years than Dylan Freechild. From his iconic Callahan video and summers with the NexGen Tour, to multiple high profile Worlds appearances, a pair of club titles, and brief media-forward semi-pro career, he has regularly been in the public spotlight.
Always willing to speak his mind, Freechild joins Edward Stephens for a wide-ranging and frank conversation about his career as a player, coach, and cultural figure. Listen as Freechild discusses the ins-and-outs of more than a decade at the top of the game, including his complicated history with the Oregon club scene that culminated in this season’s Portland Rhino Slam!’s championship. And yes — he also gets into the theory and practice of spiking.
