The Line brings together lists of sevens from our reporting staff.
Every year at the very tail end of the season we few Ultiworld writers drag out the soap boxes, hop atop them and in righteous indignation proclaim ourselves in contrast to the general voting to be correct in our Snubs & Superlatives. “Such and such player was robbed!” we shout. “How could you fools not see!” we proclaim. A snub in our eyes must not fade gradually into the darkness, but rather be permanently logged for all to remember. This is a way to get the last word in, and also to sing the praises of the excellent athletes of the sport we love. It is also, in many ways, a called shot of sorts. A bet that in the coming years that player will ascend (or in some cases re-ascend) to greatness. Listed here is a collection of those cries of “snub!” that turned out to be portents of success, and how those players may affect the 2025 season.
