2025 Throw of the Year: Cody Edelmayer – Cody Edelmayer (HSNI High School)
“High school kids should not be able to do this.”
“Came out like a rocket and settled in like a feather.”
“Nah what are they feeding these kids”
“TotY”
These are some of the comments across social media left on clips of Cody Edelmayer sending a huck to the moon and back for a perfectly placed score. It came at the 2025 High School National Invite, where Green Canyon was trying to followup a run to the 2024 final. While they couldn’t achieve that, Edelmayer at least brought home a consolation prize.
Where the high schooler pulled this throw out of is a mystery. It’s world class: a standstill flick huck from the front line to back, getting there right on time and settling in for a soft easy catch. And all of that happens with a flat mark and players in the lane. Most people can’t throw this in an undefended drill, with power position. But this display of remarkable range and tremendous touch was a simply stunning display. And as one commenter said, quite wisely many months ago, TotY: Throw of the Year.
