High School Power Rankings: Post-Spring Fling Edition [4/20/26]

Which teams are the early favorites for HSNI bids?

Welcome to the fourth edition of the 2026 High School Power Rankings! The rankings can be permanently found on our Youth Rankings page.

Because many youth teams have not played yet this season, these rankings should be considered preliminary and will change during the course of the spring. The rankings will eventually be used to determine invitations to the 2026 High School National Invite; currently, we plan to use the rankings published the week of May 18th as the final rankings before final bids are sent out (many bids will be sent out on a rolling basis).

If you have additional information about tournaments or team strength that you would like to be considered for the High School Power Rankings, please email [email protected].

Teams, if you would like to add logos and team information to your Team Pages, follow these instructions!

Without further ado, here are the Top 25 teams in the Boys’ and Girls’ High School Divisions!

Notes

  • Spring Fling shook up the rankings quite a bit this weekend. Columbia (NJ) bounced back in a big way and showed the promise they had all fall with a win over a strong field. Brooklyn Tech (NY) has continued to play well and becomes the first New York team ever to qualify for HSNI! Jackson Reed (DC) continues to look like one of the stronger teams on the East Coast as well. Wissahickon (PA) had a solid weekend with a good win over Haverford (PA) and losses only to Brooklyn Tech and Jackson Reed.
  • Green Canyon (UT) continues to blow out every team they play. Could they be a potential title contender at HSNI this year? We won’t get to see them against ranked competition until Spaghetti Westerns.
  • Welcome to the top 25, Berkeley (CA) and Parkway (MO)! California is looking very strong overall this year, and Parkway got a revenge win over Edwardsville (IL) after losing to them twice at Indy Invite.

Notes

  • The tight race for “best team in Washington” continues! Garfield (WA) got a key win over Nathan Hale (WA) in league play. Hale beat Ingraham (WA). Ingraham beat Lincoln (WA). But these teams keep trading wins. Expect to see many of these teams at HSNI for a final battle royale.
  • Welcome to the top 25, Cambridge Rindge (MA)! The rising program in Massachusetts is undefeated so far this season, with wins over Northampton, Four Rivers, and Amherst.
  • Welcome also to Lakewood/CA (CO)! The Colorado team has been dominant so far in 2026, including a couple of wins over East (CO), who played well at YULA Invite earlier this season. Have we been sleeping on Colorado teams?
  • Strath Haven (PA) rockets back into the rankings after Alice Rieger returned to the field for Spring Fling. They rolled everyone to win the tournament and could be poised to snare an HSNI bid in the coming weeks. SLA (PA) also had an excellent showing and makes their top 25 debut!
  • Andover (MN) has been playing well in Minnesota league competition, including a win over Edina (MN).

Looking Ahead

Spaghetti Westerns and Hopkins Hustle aren’t far away now and should give some clarity to the western and midwest pecking order. Pioneer Valley Invite is also coming up in May.
