High School Power Rankings: Late April Edition [4/28/26]

Spaghetti Western is on deck this weekend!

Welcome to the fifth edition of the 2026 High School Power Rankings! The rankings can be permanently found on our Youth Rankings page.

The rankings will eventually be used to determine invitations to the 2026 High School National Invite; currently, we plan to use the rankings published the week of May 18th as the final rankings before final bids are sent out (many bids will be sent out on a rolling basis).

If you have additional information about tournaments or team strength that you would like to be considered for the High School Power Rankings, please email [email protected].

Notes

  • Haverford (PA) took down Born To Dive and in impressive fashion: they thumped Columbia 15-7 in the final. It was a dominant weekend from the team overall. They’ve only lost three times this season: to Brooklyn Tech, to Chapel Hill, and to Wissahickon, who they’ve beaten multiple times.
  • Chapel Hill (NC) wasn’t active but earned an HSNI bid this week. They were always a strong candidate to get a bid thanks to winning NC States in the fall. Their win over Haverford earlier this season locked in a bid with a few weeks to go before final bids go out.
  • Albany (CA) beat El Cerrito (CA) 13-7 in league play. EC fell a couple spots in the rankings as a result. Let’s see how El Cerrito fares at Spaghetti Western this weekend. It’s a big test for a lot of teams!
  • Andover (MN) and Four Rivers (MA) join the top 25 this week after strong showings at Matoska and Born to Dive, respectively.

Notes

  • Not many games this week in the women’s division. Rankings held in Washington league play. The biggest relevant game was Berkeley (CA) getting a one-goal win over Oakland Tech (CA) in league play. They jumped into the top 25 on that result. Spaghetti Western will be an important data point for lots of California teams.
  • Green Canyon (UT) was re-rated higher after slowly sliding as other teams moved around them. They haven’t lost a game yet this season, though they haven’t played other top 25 teams.

Looking Ahead

Spaghetti Westerns is this coming weekend! The HSNI qualifier should help connect much of the western United States better in the rankings. Amherst Invite is also on deck.

Hopkins Hustle is two weeks away and should give some clarity to the western and midwest pecking order. Pioneer Valley Invite is also coming up in May.
