Ultiworld has purchased Statto, a trusted stat-tracking app used to record every touch, turnover, score, yard gained, and more straight from the sideline. Statto access is now included with every Ultiworld subscription, and we will ensure the app will be supported and further developed.
Why We Bought Statto
If you’ve used Statto, you already know what it does well: point-by-point tracking that’s more detailed than other options, including a Play-By-Play view that lets you reconstruct a game after the fact (handy when there’s no footage from a muddy battle on Field 14), and real-time stats – heatmaps, completion rate, scoring efficiency – you can pull up during a timeout to make actual tactical decisions instead of guesses. It’s also useful at halftime for figuring out who’s logged heavy minutes and who needs more run.
The app had gone several years with very few updates. We’ve been using Statto for years to collect and analyze ultimate data, like our box scores. We think it’s one of the best tools available for tracking ultimate stats, and we want to see it grow. So we bought it.
What’s Changing Today
This first release is intentionally low-key, as we prepare for a feature-rich future launch that will offer new and exciting (and some long-requested) tools for users. For now, we’re changing how you get access:
Statto is now included with an Ultiworld subscription, rather than sold as a separate in-app purchase. Your subscription tier determines how many devices you can use it on:
- Ultiworld Mini: 2 devices
- Ultiworld Standard: 3 devices
- Ultiworld All-Access: 4 devices
- Previous purchasers keep their access. If you already bought Statto, nothing changes for you; you’ll continue to have full access to the app as before, no subscription required.
- A handful of bug fixes are included in this update as well.
- The new update requires iOS 15 or later. This means it’s no longer compatible with iPad Mini (3rd generation or older) or iPhone 6 or older. You can continue to use the old version on these older devices if you already have it.

What’s Next
This release is just the foundation as we prepare for bigger things. We’re already deep into work on Statto 2.0, a significant redesign that we’re hoping to ship by the end of the year. It’ll include a reworked input interface built for faster live data entry, defensive stat tracking, the ability to add custom tags to individual plays and systems (so you can compare your vertical stack to your horizontal stack metrics), and more. We also will be expanding to Android.
We don’t have a locked date yet, but we wanted you to know it’s coming and that we are both working hard and excited, as developers and users, for the future of Statto.
