Columbus Rival’s Sophia Knowles will miss the remainder of the 2019 club season after sustaining a knee injury during the Women’s Division final at the Select Flight Invite East. An MRI confirmed that she has a torn ACL.

Knowles has shot to stardom in recent seasons. After being named a runner-up for Breakout Player of the Year in 2016, she made her first All-Club appearance (1st Team) last year. She was second in the Division in assists (21) at the 2018 National Championships, trailing only then-Heist player Robyn Fennig (29).

“I’m incredibly appreciative of the support from my teammates and so many others in the ultimate community,” Knowles told Ultiworld. “I cannot thank Rival enough for being there for me, and I’m looking forward to supporting the team in any way I can for the rest of the season and working towards coming back next year!”

Rival currently sits at #9 in the Club Power Rankings.
