Another brutal injury to a USA National Team player. Robyn Wiseman will miss Worlds with the USA Mixed team after a catastrophic knee injury last weekend at Madison Heist tryouts.
“[I] just made a routine cut to get open for a reset; the disc went up a bit earlier than I was expecting,” said Wiseman. “As I tried to change directions, it just popped. I tore my ACL, my meniscus in at least three places, sprained my MCL, and suffered an impact fracture on my femur.”
Wiseman will be sidelined until next year.
“It was certainly not how I would have hoped 2016 to go; but it’s what happened,” she said. “I’m excited to be part of all three teams over the next several months (coaching [Wisconsin] Bella Donna at Nationals, captaining Heist and the WUGC Mixed team). I’m so lucky to have so many people to lean on through this.”
