Bets Perspective: AUDL Week 11 Picks

There's a lot of consensus this week, so it could be a great week to place some big bets!

Hello and welcome to a new frontier in ultimate frisbee: you can legally bet on the sport. That’s right: DraftKings has started offering markets for the AUDL in Illinois, Michigan, Colorado, Tennessee, and West Virginia with more states on the way.

And what that means is that we’re starting a new column for subscribers with weekly AUDL betting picks, our best bets, and game analysis. If you’re new or need to brush up on the sportsbetting basics, check out our introductory entry.

After a wild last week with lots of value, it seems DraftKings has tightened up some of the lines. But fear not, we still see plenty of angles to attack.

Week 11 AUDL Games

Seattle Cascades at San Jose Spiders (-4.5)

Chris’ Take: These back-to-back matchups are tricky. San Jose crushed Seattle by eight in Week 10 and now gets the chance to return home for this game. The Cascades should be much closer to full strength after missing much of its roster the week before. Still, with no Mark Burton or Brad Houser, I think the Spiders cover here. SJ -4.5

Charlie’s Take: I have no feel for these bottom tier west coast teams. They are super inconsistent. These two teams played close games to start the season and I don’t put much stock in last week’s results because of US Open. I’ll take the points. SEA +4.5

Keith’s Take: The Cascades have really limped to the finish line, but I’m hardly excited counting on this inconsistent Spiders team. The sizable spread on the week’s lowest total implies a 21-16 expected score, so I’m hesitant to count on the cover. The Cascades’ offense has been dreadful as of late, and not having Houser – who led the team in yards last time these two matched up – won’t help. The line is sharp, and while I’d usually take the points, Seattle has come too undone to put stock in them. SJ -4.5
