Centex 2025: Tournament Talk (Women’s & Men’s Divisions)

Top ranked Texas and Tufts split a pair of games on the men's side, and Utah cruised through an undefeated weekend in the women's tournament. Both divisions kept the D-I bid picture spicy.

After two weekends of frisbee in the deep South, the 2025 edition of Centex, both in the men’s and women’s divisions, is in the books. Although both tournaments lacked true national title contenders, both fields did feature a few teams floating around the bid-earning position, jockeying for key late-season wins with just few weekends remaining until the college frisbee postseason kicks off.

On the men’s side, No. 19 Texas TUFF and No. 23 Tufts E-Men highlighted the field and performed as such, splitting a pair of contests, with Tufts claiming the championship. Unranked Chicago Fission, Utah Valley, and Wisconsin Hodags, all at least floating around the Top 25 picture, represented the top challengers on the men’s side.

With the women’s tournament, No. 14 Utah Spiral Jetty and No. 21 UCLA BLU were the only Top 25 representation in the field, with UCLA fighting for more bids in a loaded Southwest region, which is currently slated for six bids – not including BLU, who are just outside that picture. Texas Melee and Washington University Iron Horse, both on the outside looking in of the rankings, entered as the third and fourth seeds and the perceived biggest challengers to the favorites.

Oh, and as for the weekend’s most important result? Colorado College Zenith impressed the judges in the annual Saturday night dance-off. D-III rise up.
