The World Flying Disc Federation’s $75,000 Kickstarter for video production at the 2016 World Ultimate and Guts Championships reached its funding goal this morning after a big push over the last week. The Kickstarter got a significant boost from the AUDL’s Dallas Roughnecks, who agreed to match up to $10,000 pledged in a 24 hour period early last week. That match was fully realized and helped push the funding out of a bit of stagnation.
WFDF plans to livestream at least 20 games of ultimate, produce at least 10 mini-documentaries about teams and players, host a two-hour broadcast feature on a “US sports network,” and produce a documentary of 2016 Worlds.
This is the largest crowdfunding sum raised in ultimate’s history.
